DOUALA : LES JEUNES LEADERS INTERPELLENT LE PRÉSIDENT DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE

 Le Collectif des Jeunes Leaders de Douala, regroupant diverses associations et mouvements de jeunesse de la ville, ayant pour coordonnateur Charly Tchatchoua Tchande, a adressé une lettre ouverte à Son Excellence Paul Biya, Président de la République du Cameroun. Objectif : attirer l’attention du Chef de l’État sur les défis que rencontrent les jeunes et proposer des solutions concrètes pour la consolidation de la paix, de la stabilité et de la cohésion sociale dans le pays avant, pendant et après les échéances électorales.

C’est au cours d’une conférence de presse, organisée ce vendredi 01 aout 2025 à Douala, que le collectif des jeunes leaders ; par le canal de et son Coordonnateur Charly Tchatchoua Tchande  et deson porte-parole Benoit Elonguele, en présence des représentants des jeunes des six arrondissements de de la ville de Douala, s’est exprimé devant les hommes et femmes de medias, afin que leurs actions soient connues de tous.

Une jeunesse engagée pour la paix

Le Collectif, structuré autour d’une plateforme dénommée « Collectif des leaders des associations-mouvements de jeunesse de Douala », affirme œuvrer depuis plusieurs années pour l’épanouissement des jeunes, la paix durable et le vivre-ensemble. Il collabore déjà avec plusieurs ministères, notamment ceux de la Jeunesse, de l’Éducation Civique, de l’Enseignement Supérieur, ou encore des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises.

Des inquiétudes sur le terrain

Dans leur lettre, les jeunes leaders soulignent plusieurs fléaux qu’ils estiment préoccupants : le clanisme, le favoritisme, le tribalisme et certaines pratiques sociales injustes. Des dérives qui, selon eux, fragilisent les fondements de la société camerounaise et menacent la paix acquise de haute lutte.

Ils dénoncent également le manque d’implication réelle des jeunes dans les instances décisionnelles et demandent une meilleure prise en compte de leurs préoccupations.

Des propositions pour une jeunesse actrice du changement

Sans esprit polémique, le collectif avance des propositions concrètes :

         •        La création d’une plateforme de dialogue permanent entre les jeunes et les autorités (FORUM DE LA JEUNESSE DE DOUALA) ;

         •        L’instauration d’un quota réservé aux jeunes dans les processus électoraux, notamment lors des élections locales ;

         •        Le renforcement de l’accompagnement des associations de jeunesse dans la lutte contre la délinquance et l’instabilité sociale ;

         •        La promotion de l’entrepreneuriat jeune comme outil de lutte contre le chômage.

Pour le Coordonnateur du collectif  Charly Tchatchoua Tchande, « Chaque génération doit, dans une relative opacité, affronter sa mission, la remplir ou la trahir. Nous avons résolument pris l’engagement de booster plus de 5 000 jeunes à Douala pour le scrutin du 12 octobre, dans un climat de paix ».

Un appel à l’écoute et à l’action

C’est très clair pour le porte-parole du collectif,  Benoît Elonguele, qui dit : « Les jeunes ne doivent pas être des spectateurs stériles. Ceux qui ont leur carte d’électeur doivent aller aux urnes. Les autres doivent jouer un rôle d’observateurs pour dénoncer toute dérive, afin que le Cameroun reste un pays de paix. »

Par cette lettre, le Collectif des Jeunes Leaders de Douala ne cherche pas à critiquer la politique gouvernementale, mais plutôt à offrir des pistes de solution dans un esprit patriotique. Les signataires affirment leur volonté de contribuer activement à la construction d’un Cameroun pacifique, uni et prospère, avec une jeunesse impliquée et responsabilisée.
