Afrique centrale : la CEBEVIRHA adopte une feuille de route ambitieuse pour transformer les secteurs de l’élevage, de la pêche et de l’aquaculture.

Du 24 au 26 juin 2026, les experts des États membres de la CEMAC, les partenaires techniques et financiers ainsi que les acteurs des filières de l’élevage, de la pêche et de l’aquaculture se sont réunis à Douala dans le cadre d’un atelier régional consacré à la validation du Plan d’Actions Stratégique (PAS) 2026-2035 de la CEBEVIRHA.

Pendant trois jours de travaux, les participants ont dressé un diagnostic approfondi des principaux défis qui freinent le développement de ces secteurs essentiels à la sécurité alimentaire et à la croissance économique de l’Afrique centrale. Les échanges ont également permis de définir les grandes orientations qui guideront les interventions de la CEBEVIRHA au cours de la prochaine décennie.

Les experts ont relevé que les effets du changement climatique, la dégradation des ressources naturelles, les conflits liés à la transhumance, la surexploitation des ressources halieutiques, le déficit d’infrastructures de conservation et de transformation, ainsi que le manque d’investissements continuent de limiter les performances des filières animales et halieutiques dans la sous-région.

Selon les participants, ces difficultés contribuent à maintenir une forte dépendance aux importations de produits d’origine animale et halieutique, alors même que l’Afrique centrale dispose d’importantes ressources naturelles encore insuffisamment valorisées. Elles affectent également les revenus des producteurs, compromettent la création d’emplois et accentuent les risques d’insécurité alimentaire.

Afin d’inverser cette tendance, les travaux de Douala ont abouti à la validation d’un Plan d’Actions Stratégique articulé autour de plusieurs axes prioritaires. Il prévoit notamment le développement de systèmes de production durables et résilients face au changement climatique, le renforcement des chaînes de valeur, la modernisation des infrastructures de production, de conservation et de commercialisation, l’harmonisation des politiques et réglementations entre les États membres de la CEMAC ainsi que le renforcement de la recherche, de l’innovation et de la formation professionnelle.

Les participants ont également souligné l’importance d’une mobilisation accrue des partenaires techniques et financiers afin d’assurer la mise en œuvre effective des programmes inscrits dans ce nouveau cadre stratégique.
Pour le Secrétaire Exécutif Dr Ngoande Salvador, l’objectif est de saisir les opportunités de développement qui s’offrent à nous, en particulier celles liées à notre intégration régionale.

À travers ce Plan d’Actions Stratégique 2026-2035, la CEBEVIRHA entend contribuer au renforcement de la sécurité alimentaire, à la création d’emplois durables, à la préservation des ressources naturelles et à une meilleure intégration des marchés régionaux. Cette vision s’inscrit dans les priorités de la CEMAC, de l’Agenda 2063 de l’Union africaine, des Objectifs de développement durable et de la Zone de libre-échange continentale africaine.

À l’issue de cet atelier, nous espérons que le véritable travail commencera entre la CEBEVIRHA et ses partenaires techniques et financiers , a tenu à mentionner le Professeur Kalame Fobissie

Au terme de l’atelier de Douala, les participants ont réaffirmé leur engagement à accompagner la mise en œuvre de cette feuille de route, considérée comme un levier essentiel pour renforcer la compétitivité des filières de l’élevage, de la pêche et de l’aquaculture et promouvoir un développement durable au bénéfice des populations d’Afrique centrale.
